Quote Analysis Act 2 Scene 3 (Romeo and Juliet)

‘…they stumble that run fast.’

This quote can be translated into meaning, those who rush are likely to stumble. This can then be applied to Romeo and Juliet’s current plan as many important decisions such a organising a marriage, have been made within a short time span. It also again foreshadows the negative outcome the two lovers will have by stating they will stumble. Stumbling is linked with falling which in turn, when referenced to Romeo and Juliet’s actions, manipulates the audience to believe their plan can’t result in a positive outcome between the two lovers. Therefore the quotes purpose is identified. It is in this way that the quote can be associated with Romeo and Juliet’s plan.
